Meet Izabel Farynick, LAc.
MAcCHM, Dipl. O.M., AOBTA-CP
NCCAOM Board Certified Acupuncturist & Clinical Herbalist (#851798)
Izabel Farynick has a Masters of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, is a nationally recognized NCCAOM Board Certified Acupuncturist & Clinical Herbalist, Licensed by the States of Texas (#AC02179) and New York (#007624), and is a Certified Practitioner of Asian Bodywork with a TuiNa specialization.
She is an expert in restoring Gut Health and specializes in Hormone Health, and Chronic Illness and Pain with a focus on increasing patients’ quality of life — whether that be by reducing pain, balancing hormones and the immune system, or helping her patients look and feel well from the inside out.
As someone who had chronic pain and autoimmune conditions herself, Izabel understands how each person’s needs are unique and complex. Humans are not “one-size fits all.” By utilizing the wonderful medical system of Chinese medicine, she has been able to aid in many patients’ healing, as well as her own.
She has specialized training in Gynecology from Dr. Randine Lewis, Facial/Cosmetic Cupping and Acupuncture, Dr. Will Morris’ Neoclassical pulse diagnostics, and is trained to serve with Acupuncturists without Borders. Additionally, Izabel spent over 3 years being mentored by Melissa Light, of Light Family Acupuncture, who is known for her outstanding work with pregnancy & postpartum care, pediatrics, and fertility.
Izabel has decided to even further develop her education and expertise and is earning her Doctor of Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts. She is also a member of the Texas Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Society of Acupuncturists.
Izabel’s Story
In high school, Izabel experienced a series of concussions and whiplash injuries from horseback riding. At that point, she sought out medical care from just about every speciality in Western medicine and various holistic modalities — acupuncture and Chinese medicine were the only things that brought her significant relief without major side effects.
Due to the nature of the injuries, her vision was greatly affected, losing the ability to read, among other difficulties. In the end, with the help of Chinese medicine, she was able to graduate from high school and go on to college along with the rest of her high school class. Izabel went from unable to read, to reading with glasses, to reading glasses-free without an issue, due to the profound effects acupuncture and Chinese medicine have on healing the brain.
Once in college she knew that she wanted to go into healthcare as she wanted to help others as her doctors had helped her. After exploring her options she knew that becoming an acupuncturist was the best way to make an impact.
Upon gradating from college she enrolled at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine to begin her Chinese medicine training. In school, she gravitated towards cases of chronic pain and autoimmune conditions, finding great joy in seeing her patients regain their quality of life when their symptoms and pain decreased.
Izabel’s goal for her patients is for them to have the ability to live their lives without being restricted by their bodies. Chinese medicine is a perfect tool for that goal, as it works to restore harmony and balance from within and builds resilience to be able to handle whatever life stressors you may encounter.
When not working with patients, Izabel can be found working on her Doctorate, at Zilker with her dog Bodhi, playing pickleball, hiking the greenbelt, reading, and playing the ukulele.
